DWIHN Achieves CCBHC Certification: Expanding Access to Better Behavioral Health Services in Wayne County

Starting January 1, 2025, the Detroit Wayne Integrated Health Network (DWIHN) will become a fully Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), a move that will make it easier for people living in Detroit and Wayne County to get the mental health and substance use support they need, when they need it.

What does this mean for you and our community? It means:

  • Easier, more accessible care: Whether you have mild, moderate, or severe behavioral health concerns, DWIHN’s new CCBHC status ensures you’ll access high-quality, coordinated treatment.
  • Help for everyone: You can seek care regardless of your ability to pay or where you live in the area. We’re committed to serving everyone who needs us.
  • Better coordination and crisis care: From outpatient mental health counseling to substance use services and crisis support, our integrated approach puts all the needed help under one roof.

“By expanding Michigan’s CCBHC model to include DWIHN and several of our partners, we’re reshaping behavioral healthcare to be more equitable, accessible, and accountable to the individuals and families we serve,” said James E. White, DWIHN’s President & CEO.

For years, DWIHN has provided quality, community-focused care. Now, with the CCBHC certification, we’re enhancing and streamlining services so you can get the right care at the right time.

DWIHN is proud to be Michigan’s largest Community Mental Health agency, committed to a community that supports people with mental illnesses, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and substance use disorders. Recently recognized as one of Crain’s Best Places to Work 2024 and a Detroit Free Press Top Workplace in 2024, we continually strive to improve both our workplace culture and the care we provide.
