Ed Lamont Presents ADDISON MIZNER: Exotic Society Architect to the Treasure Coast NSDAR
Ed Lamont presents ADDISON MIZNER: Exotic Society Architect to the Treasure Coast Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in Vero Beach, FL. The talk will take place at the Point West Country Club on January 13, 2025 at 11:30 am.
When Addison Mizner arrived in Florida, he thought he was going to die. Instead, he brought his distinctive style of architecture, interior, and landscape design to Palm Beach. Mizner then took his talents to Boca Raton and morphed from society architect to developer and city planner. For his efforts, Mizner would be acclaimed as a design genius. Ultimately, he’d be ruined.
Ed Lamont is a docent at WHITEHALL - the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum in Palm Beach. Since 1991, he's over 3,000 tours into Florida's Gilded Age history at the Flagler Museum. Ed gives gallery talks at the O'Keeffe Gallery and facilitates book discussions at the King Library, both on the campus of the Society of the Four Arts. He speaks at historical societies, Rotary Clubs, Sons & Daughters of the American Revolution, and National Society of Colonial Dames of America Chapters in Florida.
