New International Accreditation for Emergency Care in Haiti  

The emergency medicine program at the Hôpital Universitaire de Mirebalais (HUM)—the only residency program of its kind in Haiti—received international accreditation after a decade of training doctors to fill a critical gap in care.

PIHer of the Month 🧡

Isata Dumbuya is a PIHer and the director of reproductive, maternal, neonatal, and child health at PIH Sierra Leone. Isata spent over a decade in the United Kingdom as a nurse and midwife. She took her skills and knowledge back to where she was born, the Kono District in Sierra Leone. She has worked to improve maternal care in her home country and has even been featured on the BBC.
