Embracing the New Digital Frontier with Philippe Wahl of La Poste Groupe – Episode 29 of “Chambers Talks: A Podcast Series with John Chambers”

If you follow me on social, you know I am a big believer in France. That’s why I couldn’t have been more excited to recently welcome Philippe Wahl on my #ChambersTalks #podcast – the first French CEO I’ve spoken to on the show.

As the CEO of La Poste Groupe, Philippe is proud of the origins of his company – and the postal industry as a whole. The origins of postal services date back thousands of years. In fact, some of the world’s earliest known postal systems can be traced back to ancient civilizations. This rich history reflects the evolution of human communication and highlights the vital role that postal services have played in connecting people and facilitating trade across the globe.

La Poste, as an institution, was started in 1477 when King Louis XI of France created a royal postal service that eventually established a network of roads for official administrative correspondence. While many things have changed over the past six centuries, one thing that hasn’t changed is the French people’s trust in La Poste. Now, with a digital revolution underway, the company has, under Philippe’s leadership, embraced the #NewDigitalFrontier to better serve its customers’ evolving needs.

Philippe has aligned his vision for La Poste with President Emmanuel Macron’s plan for a Digital France – and, as France’s High-Tech Ambassador, it is a plan I believe will become the model for the rest of Europe. Leveraging the deep trust of French citizens as its biggest asset, La Poste has successfully transformed its products, services, and culture, utilizing technology and digital advancements. Philippe has not only positioned his company as a big player in France and Europe but across the globe through strategic partnerships with enterprises and #startups alike in places like India and Brazil.

Listen to our conversation to hear more from Philippe about how he is helping his employees prepare for the Age of AI next, why his team is key to his company’s continuous transformation, and more. If you enjoy this conversation as much as I did, take good notes, leave “Chambers Talks: A Podcast Series with John Chambers” a 5-star review, and subscribe so you don’t miss any future episodes!
