Emily! Didn't you learn about iCloud?
I realise it's hard to imagine that there are intimate images of Emily Ratajkowski left unpublished. But, guess what? There are 200 images from her iCloud hack which someone is trying to sell. Given the last person to try to sell iCloud hacked images has been sent to prison, this doesn't seem to be a wise move. Everyone deserves privacy but we can take reasonable precautions so this sort of thing doesn't happen to us.
Here are four quick lessons that everyone can learn and apply themselves.
- Celebs are targets: it seems like every z-list celeb upward is subject to more attacks. But the rest of us can be attacked too - think and behave in a way to minimise any damage
- Explicit self-portraits: don't keep them on someone else's server. Or perhaps even delete them?
- Passwords: make them more complicated. And perhaps change them relatively regularly
- Encryption & document passwords: if you do want to keep important and private material private then you might want to encrypt the hard drive or certain documents. Also, certain programs - such as Word or Excel - allows you to add a password to an individual document canvas
