Is this the end of digital marketing?
For the past years I've talking with some friends and professionals in the digital marketing area about this subject - "the end of digital marketing".
People are becoming a little tired of the brands. That is, tired of excessive advertising, excessive pop-ups and excessive information (even more misinformation, in fact) and end up disconnecting from social networks and the main platforms where digital marketing is most present.
Nowadays we can not enter a website or an email without having campaigns, newsletters with promotions every week or even days, through messages via sms or, again, through email.
Is this the solution? Overload the consumer through digital marketing and through social networks when the consumer, in part, with the recent flaws in social networks like Facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp, excessive false news and advertising behind advertising? The result is that the consumer is tired and disconnects from those same applications and content.
Should we rethink marketing and see digital marketing as a marketing tool or adapt marketing to current society but thinking about the future? For many, digital marketing is just a simply and great tool/complement of marketing. For many others, it is simply the main tool, as we can see with the increasing supply and demand in courses, post-graduations and masters in digital marketing.
Is digital marketing a fashion and a trend or will it be the beginning of the end of what we know as digital marketing, or will it be the beginning of a new paradigm of marketing?
