Engaging your learners - the winning formula

Engaging your learners - the winning formula

This is the shortest article I have ever written. But it could be the most potent with respect to the impact you take away from this simple equation.

Before I give it away, please understand that learner engagement is arguably the most important skill a trainer/facilitator can have. Without engagement, the transfer of real learning does not occur.

To garner engagement, you need to apply the following formula in your planning, development and facilitation:

(Attention + Interest) x Purpose* = Engagement

*Purpose can also be thought of in terms of "what's in it for me".

Good in theory...not always practical. I also like the notion of WIIFU...'what's in it for us' !

Well you know what they say about a good delivery; always must be short, sharp and shiny. I think you qualified well in all 3 :) Thank you :)
