🌟 Envisioning Our Children’s Future: The Power of a 5-Year Vision in IEPs 🌟

Years ago, when I first started advocating, I decided to become a Master IEP Coach®. One of the cornerstones of the program is the importance of creating a five-year VISION for our children during my journey. This vision is a powerful tool that asks us to consider: Where do you want your child to be in five years? And crucially, do the goals in the IEP reflect that vision?

It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day challenges, but stepping back to envision our children’s future can provide invaluable direction. This long-term perspective ensures that the IEP goals are aligned with our broader aspirations, guiding our current decisions and paving the way for our children’s success.

I encourage all parents to include their vision in the “Parent Concerns” or Parental Input section of the IEP. Sharing this vision with the IEP team helps everyone understand the path we are charting for our children before diving into the specifics.

If you need help aligning your vision with your child’s IEP I can help.  Email me and let’s set up a time to talk about your child’s needs and how I can help you get there.

Together, let’s ensure that our children’s IEPs are not just documents but powerful tools that pave the way for their success and happiness. 💪✨
