The poster is on meta/lifestyle approach to wellness and the theoretical underpinnings that support it. With only 10% of employees engaged in corporate South Africa and 83% of diseases attributed to stress how much performance and productivity are we losing due to low well-being? Most organisations still have a reactive approach to wellbeing, where they focus on the old let's check your HBP, diabetes and HIV status on wellness days. While these are important there is need for a robust, revolutionary approach to wellness which is both proactive, preventative and complementary to traditional methods.Having spend 2 days with Harvard physians and medical professors it is encouraging to note that the doctors themselves realise that we have a health crisis that can not simply be solved by a 15 minutes doctor's visit, there is need for personalised and wholistic interventions and wellcoaches/lifestyle coaches are part of the solution to the health predicament of increased diabetes, hbp, heart issues, fatigue, burnout,stress and so forth we find ourselves in. in this VUCA world.

7yThis is a great paradigm indeed as wellness issues have been misunderstood in the corporate setting hence not being given the attention and priority they deserve. The fundamentals of business i.e. creativity, innovation, team collaboration, harmonious working environment and engagement to mention but a few are largely influenced by wellness.
