Europe OPEX Report 2023

The Energy Industries Council (EIC) has released its Europe OPEX Report 2023, highlighting the rapid growth of Europe's renewable energy sector.
The report focuses on onshore wind and solar power, showcasing the region's transition to cleaner energy sources.
EIC Senior OPEX Analyst Thomas Bacon emphasized the remarkable developments, attributing them to robust policies and legislation promoting renewable energy.
The report reveals that Europe witnessed a surge of 5.4GW of onshore wind capacity across 59 wind farms in 2022, with Sweden leading the pack.
On top of that, 4.1GW of commercial-scale solar capacity was added, with Spain leading the way.
The report forecasts continued growth in the renewable energy sector, including the commissioning of 219 new solar farms in 2023 alone.
The report also sheds light on the hydroelectric industry and the phase-out of operational nuclear facilities.
