Every Failure is Married to a Success!

Every Failure is Married to a Success!

A simple grey double tick on WhatsApp sparked an unexpected journey. It wasn't the message itself but the act of someone reading it without acknowledging the sender that ignited a fire. This seemingly small act of disrespectful digital communication felt jarring, a symbol of something deeper—perhaps a lack of self-confidence in the recipient. Little did I know that this observation would become the catalyst for a daily writing habit that would shape my year.

On April 18th, I began posting short blogs on LinkedIn, exploring this initial thought and others that bubbled to the surface. Each morning at 7:00 am Rio time (Riyadh, for those unfamiliar), a new post appeared. What began as a simple exercise in expressing my thoughts quickly gained traction. Encouraged by the positive response, I decided to elevate my writing, transitioning from casual blogs to more structured articles.

August 3rd marked a significant milestone: the launch of "The Elephant in the Office" newsletter. With it came a commitment—a daily article, without fail. The reaction from those around me was a mix of support and skepticism. "Samer," they warned, "this isn't sustainable. You can't maintain this pace." Their doubt, however well-intentioned, became fuel. I thrive on challenges, and this one was too enticing to ignore.

A personal goal began to form: 1,000 subscribers by the end of the year. No hashtags, no LinkedIn Premium, just consistent, quality content. Why 1,000? Simply because it felt like a worthwhile target. A stretch goal to push me further.

The daily grind wasn't always easy. Some days, the words flowed effortlessly, ideas tumbling onto the page. On other days, it was a struggle, each sentence hard-won. But the commitment remained unwavering. Every morning, a new article landed in inboxes, a testament to the power of consistency.

As December 31st approached, I reflected on the journey. I had successfully maintained the daily writing rhythm, a feat many had doubted. Yet, the 1,000-subscriber mark remained elusive. Disappointment lingered, a reminder that not every goal is achieved as planned.

But isn't that the essence of life? A tapestry woven with victories and setbacks, friendships and rivalries, moments of brilliance, and periods of struggle. Some days shine like diamonds; others feel as heavy as stones. The key is to keep moving forward, learning from triumphs and stumbles.

To every subscriber, I extend my heartfelt gratitude. Thank you for taking the time to read my words, whether they accompanied your morning coffee or provided a moment of reflection during your evening. Your engagement has been the driving force behind this endeavor.

My commitment to daily articles continues until I reach the 365-article mark. This self-imposed deadline serves as a benchmark, a point of reflection. Until that milestone is reached, the words will continue to flow, one day, one article at a time.

Samer, A blast from the past: Within minutes after we sat facing each other in the old Meirc offices, I knew that I had just met a dedicated, committed and true to his word Disruptor! My vote : who cares if we are a 1,000 or a handful. Only those who matter, matter!Keep it up.

..."And my commitment to the daily readings of your articles will continue"...The wonderful thing about them is that they are all related to the idea of the "Elephant in the office" despite their big number so far with more to come. This is by itself a unique achievement, dear Samer, which is worth our admiration and reverence to you...

Baba, your strength, wisdom, and heart continue to inspire me every single day. When your eyes lock onto a dream, your heart ignites with passion, and your mind commits to a purpose - mountains become molehills, and the impossible becomes inevitable. If anyone can achieve their goal, it’s you.
