My heart goes out to the generation who are currently embarking on their careers.
Over and above increasingly finding themselves communicating with chat bots powered by AI, sophisticated algorithms are deciding if they get that job or loan, and not people.
Which is why what I do is now more valuable and sought after now more than ever.
I connect human beings.
And WHAT human beings!
For the past four years, I have created and curated an ecosystem of more than 500 WhatsApp groups full of some of the world’s most amazing thought leaders and entrepreneurs.
I recently launched Virtual Power Networking to allow anyone to join my network to meet them.
Well, almost everyone.
As a professional networker, trust underpins everything that I do.
As Warren Buffett once pointed out, it takes 20 years to build a reputation and 5 minutes to ruin it.

Which is why I ask people to share their LinkedIn profile when signing up. If they have no recommendations, that’s a red flag for me. It is important for me to keep my network free of bad actors.
I recently created five WhatsApp groups for the alumni of the world’s greatest universities: MIT, Harvard, Stanford, Oxford and Cambridge.
Using LinkedIn’s filter, I then identified those people in my network that attended these noble educational establishments.
All of my 500+ WhatsApp groups have a theme. If I identify that a member works in, say, Biotech, I invite them to the WhatsApp group aimed at people who have an interest in it.
There are some extraordinarily clever people in my network.
I admire them, not least since they demonstrate the kind of tenacity and work ethic that was sorely lacking in me when I was younger. I did not even go to university on account of getting distracted by wine, women, and song.
In a classical act of reframing, I tell myself that they did all the studying for me. Now some 40 years later, I find myself surrounding myself with some of the world’s best minds connect them.
