Senem Anataca: Can you please introduce yourself?


Tina Chagoury: I'm Tina Chagoury, a Clinical Dietician and Breast Cancer survivor. I have been residing and practicing in Dubai since 2005, and I'm also a proud mother of two.


Senem Anataca: What motivated you to seek coaching, and what were your initial expectations?


Tina Chagoury: After my breast cancer treatment, I sought guidance to reorient my life and career and to refocus on my true aspirations.

Senem Anataca: How did you select your coach, and what factors were essential in making that decision?


Tina Chagoury: I knew my coach personally before engaging her as my coach. Her resilience in overcoming personal challenges was a decisive factor, and I admired her blend of assertiveness and empathy.


Senem Anataca: Could you share an instance where coaching made a significant impact on your personal or professional life?


Tina Chagoury: One crucial lesson from my coaching sessions was to prioritize self-care and family without guilt, and to be present in the moment. I often share this insight with my own clients today.


Senem Anataca: In your opinion, what qualities should an effective coach possess?


Tina Chagoury: An effective coach should demonstrate assertiveness, kindness, and an inspiring personal story.


Senem Anataca: How do you measure the success of a coaching relationship, and what specific outcomes were you hoping to achieve?


Tina Chagoury: A successful coaching relationship involves mutual respect, proactive preparation, and actionable plans. I sought clarity and a career plan, and I was grateful to achieve both.


Senem Anataca: Can you describe a particular challenge you faced during the coaching process and how it was resolved?


Tina Chagoury: Fortunately, I didn't encounter any significant challenges during the coaching process.


Senem Anataca: How has your perspective or approach to personal/professional development changed as a result of your coaching experience?


Tina Chagoury: a. I gained confidence in my capabilities and roles.

b. Overcoming self-sabotaging thoughts was a notable achievement.

c. I acquired a plan and tools to execute it effectively.


Senem Anataca: What advice would you give to someone considering engaging in a coaching relationship?


Tina Chagoury: a. Embrace the experience.

b. Explore various coaches to find the right chemistry and comfort.

c. Trust your coach and be open to coaching relationship.


Senem Anataca: Did you encounter any unexpected obstacles during your coaching journey, and how did you overcome them?


Tina Chagoury: I grappled with defining my life purpose initially, but I managed to visualize it through the process.


Senem Anataca: In what ways has coaching contributed to your overall growth and development, both personally and professionally?


Tina Chagoury: a. It significantly impacted my mindfulness and quality time with loved ones.

b. Professionally, it boosted my confidence in exploring new ideas and stepping outside my comfort zone.


Senem Anataca: What aspects of the coaching process do you think could be improved upon, based on your personal experience?

Tina Chagoury: I thoroughly enjoyed my online sessions during the COVID period, but face-to-face interactions over a cup of coffee might have added more depth to the experience.


Senem Anataca: How have you integrated the insights and learnings from coaching into your everyday life and work routine?


Tina Chagoury: At a critical juncture, the coaching significantly influenced me. I developed a heightened awareness of the value of the time I share with my family and friends on a personal level. Professionally, it fostered the confidence to venture into uncharted territories, facilitating the exploration of new ideas and a willingness to push beyond my comfort zone.


Senem Anataca: Looking back, how would you summarize your overall experience of being coached, and what lasting impressions has it left on you?


Tina Chagoury: My coaching experience was invaluable, and I highly recommend it. It's an experience I cherish and would readily embrace again at different points in my life.
