Fierce Vulnerability

Fierce Vulnerability

“Black women endure the constant trauma of demoralization, denigration; mutilation and sexualization that makes us want to retreat. We are brave while our hearts break with disappointment as we shoulder the obligations of our families while upholding our homes and communities. We yearn to give ourselves grace, allowing our feelings to be what they are, as we balance mental tenacity with emotional tenacity.”

I am blown away by the success of my Fierce Vulnerability book that debuted in Amazon's Top 100 as #1 in New Releases in Dramas & Plays by Women. I am grateful for my experiences, and for God helping me bring this amazing book to you. In my experience as a credentialed Executive Coach, I have worked with hundreds of Black women. Thanks to this work, I have learned the benefits of balancing fierceness with vulnerability. I understand and live the power that Black women need in order to thrive above physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing attacks.

I am proud to bring these powerful experience to you via my book Fierce Vulnerability: A Colored Girl's Truths, Trials and Triumphs. Black women are shifting the perceptions about who they are by creating new narratives. Fierce Vulnerability is a Black woman’s permission slip to unlearn suppression of her emotions, so she can release the weight of her secrets.

Fierce Vulnerability – A Colored Girl’s Truths, Trials and Triumphsis the story of four powerful women, Jean-Marie, Ava, Vanessa and Simone, living the dream of Black affluence in Washington DC. Each woman, in her own time, begins a dark journey to the underbelly of this dream.

Ava is a ball busting powerhouse in the political sphere. Hers is a constant battle to prove her self-worth. Vanessa does her best to keep up her perfect appearances while catering to her own demons in silence. Simone shows us the cost of being superwoman and what becomes possible when we lean on our communities and our roots to lift us up. Jean-Marie struggles with vulnerability and the personal power it brings through personal losses and challenges.

We come to know them each through their own distinct voices. We come to see them more fully through the eyes of their sisters. It is through their collective perspective, friendship and sisterhood that we learn who they are and develop a sense of what it takes to claim freedom, power, and fierce vulnerability for ourselves.

The first in a four part series, Fierce Vulnerability is a conversation piece with in-depth exploration of the issues that challenge our relationships with ourselves and each other. It highlights the sacrifices Black women make as we overcome the transitions necessary for success. It is a blueprint for redemption from our mistakes and will encourage growth outside of our comfort zones by strengthening our daily fight against fear, guilt, and shame.

Excited to learn more about the book? You can start with the sneak-peak or by getting your own copy.

Live your truths, conquer your trials, and triumph with a fierce vulnerability.

Be well and enjoy the book!
