Finally, new non-earmarked loans fly in February
The Brazilian credit figures for February were released this week by the Central Bank and has revealed a significant increase in the non-earmarked loans, with a growth of 7.2% in comparison to the previous month. New earmarked loans also rose by 0.2% in the same period.
The performance of the non-earmarked loans was explained by an increase in loans for non-financial corporations (14.9%) and households (1.5%).
Also, the report confirmed that the total outstanding loans has decreased in February, a trend already identified in previous month. The total outstanding loans in the earmarked segment decreased 5.8% in comparison to February last year (-5.5% in January).
