Flirting is the act of showing attraction (seeing beauty) without being too serious. This is exactly how you need to deal with your job! You spend long time almost every day on your job and flirting with and enjoying your job is essential. On the other hand, it is equally important not to take it too seriously.

Enjoying your job is more a choice than a chance. You might be in a job position that more or less fits to your interest and expertise but the choice of finding beauty in your job and enjoying is yours. Alternatively, you can focus on the negative points and choose to be unhappy.

Enjoying your job has direct relationship with how much you see your job as an art. In the other words, the more you see your job as an art, the more you enjoy it. Duty is a moral or legal obligation and it is true that all the jobs are duties but you have a choice to see the way that you perform your duties as an art. For example, actors, painters or pianists are smart enough to present their duties (acting in a role, painting a picture or playing piano) as an art and keep enjoying it. I believe the individual way that all jobs are performed has equal potential to be seen as a art. I have seen people around the world in different jobs that their choice is to enjoy their job (see their individual way of performing their job as an art). For example, you might think that there is no art in selling ice cream but see how the following guy finds art in his individual way of selling ice cream and enjoying it:

Seeing your job as an art has direct relationship with how much you are successful in your job as well. In the other words, the more you enjoy your job, the more successful you are in your job. Success is the outcome of flirting with your job and performing your job as if you are making a piece of art.

As much as people are not too serious while flirting, it is important that you don’t take flirting with your job too seriously. High stress, exhausting work habits, uncivilized behavior toward colleagues and toxic work environment with too much politics are the outcome of taking flirting with your job too seriously.

Finally, my advice to colleagues who I act as their leader is always this sentence: "being in a job position which fits very well to your skills and qualification is more a 'chance' than a 'choice' but flirting with your job, seeing it as an art and enjoying is more a 'choice' than a 'chance'."
