She has always been a symbol of freedom, wilderness, and exquisite creativity. Her adoration for female sexuality & the way she embraced it was admired making her a cultural icon among the LGBTQAI+ artists even today!
“Though women did not enjoy equal rights in the 1900s, Kahlo was honest about her gender. Because of that, she stands out even now as a feminist. She painted many different topics related to women, including abortion, miscarriage, birth, breastfeeding, and so on,” says the art journal.
She was a woman of her values, an embodiment of her art and the celebration of her truth! Frida Kahlo has always been an inspiration to the world. She has been a pivot for the art community. Her self-portraits paint a picture. Her fantastical and uncompromising self-portraits have delved into subjects that the world was too uncomfortable talking of. This pull towards the extraordinaire brought artists closer.
