Everyone is talking about AI. It seems to be the answer to everything. Like any tool you HAVE to know how to use it, and like any tool you MUST use it the correct way. What are the pitfalls and dangers? What are its strengths? How should I best use this?
As an experiment, I just asked Chat GPT to write a post for me about our local Major League Soccer team. My prompt was "Write a social media post about why Real Salt Lake (Utah's Major League Soccer Team) is likely to win the championship this year. Include quotes from Soccer journalists and stars supporting this post"
What I got back was a rather compelling article, however can you find any issues with the response I got?

That's the post. Can you find issues there? Perhaps foremost, is that the team plays in Major League Soccer in the United States, not England, and nowhere close to the Premier League. This also means that the quotes are just plain made up.
These are called AI Hallucinations, I call them lies. Chat GPT has no context and has no understanding of what Real Salt Lake is, so it has no problem making facts up.
This is an example of the WRONG way to use AI. Don't use it to write emails. Use it to create outlines, or generate some ideas. A better use would be "Give me 10 ideas of articles to write about Real Salt Lake," or write an outline of a post about...
