Getting the Whizz Pop Bang out of LinkedIn!

Getting the Whizz Pop Bang out of LinkedIn!

It’s that electrifyingly, sparkly time of year again, can you believe we’re here already? Guy Fawkes night is this weekend in the UK.

Watching fireworks gives me a real buzz, bearing witness to all the different colours zipping through and lighting up the sky. It sure is one of life’s most magical calendar highlights. Some displays are just so exhilarating and memorable, they take my breath away (if incredibly noisy at the same time. Poor little doggies throughout the land!)

Does your content go off like a rocket, once a week? Or are your posts more in tune with a continuous Catherine wheel?: the faster it spins, the more momentum it garners, the longer it lasts and the prettier it looks  - allowing your audience to get incrementally more engaged by reading your posts on a daily basis?

The Rocket Post

Some posts will go instantly viral and whizz with engagement, with the possibility of getting mentioned in the media, if they cause a real stir. But do such rocket posts always resonate with your ideal clients? Rockets can zoom past you for meters and metres, without you even noticing them as they fly past, before exploding with their characteristically loud bang!

The Catherine wheel style approach is preferable to me:  consistent flows and resonates with your ideal audience. In my experience, these posts are better the more niche they are - really narrow down your content, hone in on the detail, make sure you use the pitch-perfect anecdote, and add value combined with a series of bang-on hashtags, to win your perfect followers. Remember,  Catherine Wheels stand alone in all their glory.

The Fountain post

A much more visual affair, bubbling over with creativity, often featuring in carousel/slider posts, adding value but also visually stimulating.

The Roman Candle post

Roman candles can expel stars in a single colour or a variety of colours. With eclectic noise effects, including hummers and crackles.

Roman Candle-type posts will be visual but also have great text short-form posts, which work better for the algorithm. They will grab your ideal client's attention, with a call to action at the bottom and some high-following hashtags to double the impact.

Little in life is as awesome a spectacle as a roaring bonfire. Watching it steadily making its huge and long-lasting impact on all within its illumination. The bonfire is the perfect analogy to your LinkedIn profile: it may be a slow burner, but will ultimately have a long-lasting effect on everyone's minds, glowing away, enticing people, to start to view and absorb it, reaching out to your ideal clients.

Wrap It Up

I hope you enjoyed my cracking metaphors today If you’d like to add sparkle to your LinkedIn, my whizzy workshop is next on Tuesday 8th November. Or book me in for a call and we can discuss how I can help.
