Go, Fight, Win!
Go, Fight, Win! Many times over the years, this phrase has been part of my vocabulary as I’ve worked side by side with teams around the globe to accomplish our goals. I’m a believer that we can accomplish almost anything when we put our mind to it and commit to doing the work required to achieve the mission.
This phrase, Go Fight Win, takes on a whole new meaning for me next week as I set out to scale Mt. Sopris, something I’ve been training to do for the last several months. Mt. Sopris, or as the Ute people called her, Wemagooah Kazuhchich (means Ancient Mountain Heart Sits There), has captured my imagination since I arrived in the Roaring Fork Valley. At 12,965 feet, she falls just short of qualifying for the 14er category (there are 58 in Colorado), but her beauty is mesmerizing.
Two years ago, I underwent a challenging spine surgery. During my recovery, I vowed to dust myself off, do the hard work of recovery and get back to doing the things I love.
Next week, I will climb Mt. Sopris with my husband and my son. We will spend a night at Thomas Lake before ascending to the peak of this beautiful mountain on Wednesday. As I put one foot in front of the next and dig deep for oxygen, I will remind myself that we will Go, Fight, Win. Afterall, isn’t that what life is all about!
