GO2NFT presents The Fashion Traceability News Thread #96
Dear GO TRACE Community,
Welcome to the 96th edition of our GO TRACE Newsletter. We are delighted to have again Go2NFT to supports us in our mission to bring you fresh news on fashion traceability and transparency.
As 2024 comes to an end, an article was published this week on the textile industry’s forecast for 2025. To me this article suggests that traceability and transparency could play a major role in the textile industry. Blockchain technology is expected to enable transparent supply chains, giving consumers visibility into the ethical origins of their products. Circular fashion initiatives will focus on repairable, recyclable and biodegradable materials, requiring clear documentation of processes and impacts. Microfinance should support fair trade and ethical sourcing, helping small producers comply with traceability standards. Additionally, the adoption of waterless dyeing and carbon-sequestering textiles will require transparent reporting to verify environmental benefits. As Gen Z demands greater accountability, brands will need robust traceability systems to build trust and adapt to changing trade policies.
I leave you to explore the rest of this edition!
