Green Commitments And Renewable Energy Developments
Set out by countries across the globe, the ambitious – and imperative – green agenda requires everyone to act.
While renewable energy solutions provide one route to reach net-zero targets, they’re not the only answer – we all have to do what we can. Organisations like WRS share a particular responsibility to educate others and practise what we preach.
And we’re doing our bit. WRS continues to provide tangible workforce solutions for our clients and candidates across the energy industry whilst implementing our own environmental policy.
Read on to find out more about what we’re doing to be more sustainable…
Expert insights
Our environmental agenda
We’re strongly aware of our collective responsibility at WRS to limit emissions and meet decarbonisation targets.
Our environmental policy outlines our green goals, what we’re already doing to make a difference, and what’s next in a bid for a sustainable future.
Is streamlining the answer for renewables?
The race for renewables is well underway, but the industry needs to find new ways to overcome hurdles if we’re to meet global net zero targets by 2050.
And, despite a clear sense of urgency from world leaders, the energy transition gets held up left right and centre.
So, what’s the solution?
If the international community is serious about its decarbonisation commitments, it’ll need to find more than a one-size-fits-all approach.
Oil and gas companies take measured steps
The oil and gas industry is set for further changes. So, what are businesses in the sector doing to adapt?
From capitalising on advanced tech to retaining existing talent, there’s a lot of life yet to come for the industry.

What’s new at WRS?
Welcome on-board
With our Tampa office now open, we’ve welcomed recruits to our US team! To celebrate their first official week and help our new employees to settle in, we took them out for drinks.
WRS is immensely pleased to welcome Christopher Russ, Grace Pellegrino, Hailey Rydberg, Julio Medina Jr, and Sam Paish to the US team – we’re very excited to see what the future holds.
We also welcomed our US Energy Divisional Manager, David Crawley, who made his move across the pond this month. It’s great to have Dave here to support and motivate the team and achieve our objectives. We’re always looking for talented individuals to join our WRS community, so if you’d like to join our US team, contact Francis Dunleavy at francis.d@worldwide-rs.com.
Or if you need general recruitment assistance or want to find a new role in the energy sector, reach out for a confidential chat.
WRS to attend RenewableNI
An all-female panel event held on International Women’s Day (8th March), RenewableNI ’s Women in Renewables will cover all aspects of the industry, including onshore and offshore wind, battery storage, planning, law, and more.
We’ve no doubt that this will be an incredible opportunity to network with important female voices and minds in the industry, share our own insights, and explore new ideas.
And, of course, we’ll tell you all about it in next month’s edition of The Hub – so make sure you subscribe to hear the latest.
Celebrating milestones
Once again, we’ve got a bunch of significant milestones to celebrate this month at WRS.
Firstly, we have Jodie McLoughlin, from our marine division, celebrating four years at WRS. Our Renewable Energy Business Development Manager, Chloe Jordan, is also marking four years of service. Thank you both for your hard work, and congratulations!
We’re also commending Jason Crowe, who joined us in 2020 – he will reach his third anniversary with us this month! Our Project Manager, Sharon Dunleavy, is also set to celebrate her third year with the WRS team later this month – thank you for always going above and beyond.
And Stefi Abbasova is celebrating her first work anniversary with us this year. We’re very grateful for your hard work and effort.
