Happiness is measured by the people you have around you

Happiness is measured by the people you have around you

We live in a society of human beings and it is not easy to measure the happiness index of our society by standard measures. Because society’s happiness is hard to measure I think one indication is if the population lives in peace respecting each other. If the population is fed, housed and has good health care and access to good education this can also contribute to happiness. If the government works for the population can also contribute to the feeling of being in control and being happy. Living without fearing your neighbours or your government or fearing getting sick and being bankrupt over that illness can contribute to happiness.

Energy travels so if we live in a place or a dark time then that message of hate and negativity is spread especially if we have a big platform to spread that message. We as individuals spend too much time outside of ourselves. As progressive human beings who want to be better and evolve then we need to go inward and work on ourselves. We need to be our most awesome and loving selves first then we can elevate the consciousness of those around us. It is my sincere hope that everyone or most everyone will take up the notion of bettering themselves. The world will be better respecting each other and more loving.

We will have greater empathy and compassion for everyone around us and the more we work on ourselves the greater our capacity to improve the lives of all of those around us. Love is the most powerful force in the universe. Most will define and ask questions about it that are relevant for all or a group of societies. Others conduct experiments, checking how people react in certain situations. From the results you calculate some averages, then compare the answers with other societies. It’s not foolproof however I heard that the most happy societies are the ones with smallest differences between people. Finland scores highest according to the World Economic Forum, but people disagree for some reasons.

Countries feel them differently. They have some kind of buzz going out that makes one feel better in one place rather than another. It's subtle and soon goes subliminal if one stays there. Like I have felt it in the few countries I have been to in Europe also the status of children and dogs in society is a indication of its empathy/love. Happiness index is simple to measure in terms of animal abuse or is there child abuse or spouse abuse cases. These are my measures.

They are not scientific and I am not widely travelled. But I could fee that there is a big difference in energy between London and New York for instance. Between Bali and Mozambique or between Mauritius and Botswana or between Johannesburg and Cape Town. I suppose I am happier in the better energy zones. External measurable factors that contribute to creating a better living environment is what traditionally gets measured, and is easier to look at. This is still quite relevant. But I would say even a simple app or a survey accessible to every individual, with a question “how are you feeling right now?” The very first thing in the morning would give another perspective. One can do running averages to account for variations over small periods of time. Cheers!

I love this introspection of yours, dear friend Kishore. Thank you kindly for sharing another precious insight with us. So grateful for you 🙏💡⭐️ How to evaluate happiness in a so-called functioning society with the aim of wellbeing and personal freedom for its citizens: I think it can be measured how we treat our elderly, our children, our not so privileged or handicapped, our animals, our plants, all living things. The more we care in consciousness and awareness that all living things are one we can go so deeply, we can evolve and be one with ourselves and all others and being part of the universe. Kishore, you have sensed the different energy levels of certain locations in a marvelous way. It's true, a sensitive human can feel them even without traveling. I've worked with a professional coach for 20 years who was a specialized astrologer as well. She could tell me pretty exactly the areas and countries where the energy levels are right and balanced for me. It's no coincidence I'm living in South East Asia and have chosen Cambodia as my final destination. It's the locals, the Khmer, their kindness, smiles, and generosity towards foreigners but most of all the balanced and smooth energy level.
