Sam Salman Presents:

HESHETHEYWE

"Going Viral" Fashion Week Los Angeles F/W 24/25 - A Dress Up Party

Sam Salman, in collaboration with students from CalARTs, is orchestrating an event, a fashion happening, March 16th, West Hollywood, CA – Plummer Park in the recreational center room; “Fiesta Hall”

We hope to create a notable moment in Los Angeles subculture history. The time when the division lines of us V. them finally become blurred. We have invited a cross section of performance artist, drag queen performance artists, actors, musicians, writers and other notable who's who.

We want you to come and play dress up with us. YOU are the model. Come over, select a 'look' and walk the runway in the new collection. It would be a gift to us to see you wearing our creations. YOU, the guests are the models who will showcase this new collection.

Once the proud owner of Horse of Arabia and Lady Gazelle - streetwear collections; Sam Salman is resurrecting some deadstock from Horse of Arabia into parts of his new brand: HESHETHEYWE. Expressions in a non-binary renaissance.

Designer Sam Salman will be hosting a runway presentation experience. Photographer friend, Photo Larry, will be capturing editorial stills.  “This will be a showcase of beauty, body and boldness in motion.  Not fashion but formulation and evocation of fabric as the vehicle - a second skin - that can change and change again. In a moment we transform - through clothing, silently, we emote feelings, self-expression, identity and attain agency through our own character building. I'm eager to see how my guests assemble the collection to represent themselves.” S. Salman

We are also blessed to select from a collection of jeans by Legacee Denim. As part of the selection of clothing; Mexican American designer Gerardo Aguilar will be bringing a selection of his Brand Legacee Denim. Born in San Diego California, Gerardo found his way to Los Angeles. Where he graduated from LATTC College – in Fashion Design. Gerardo began work as a designer for: Frankie B Jeans then RTA. He worked his way up to become the head designer was Revice Denim; a company that was founded by him and business partner in 2015. Having been working in the industry since 2004, in 2018 Gerardo created Legacee Denim, a very exclusive clothing brand.  Based I Los Angeles California. He left Revice Denim to focus 100% in his own clothing line to take it to the next level.

Finally, we are also being graced with visual artist; Doug Domonkos. Doug is a Los Angeles-based visual artist. He grew up in the industrial Midwest where TV played a big part of his developmental life. Much of his inspiration came from advertising, old, movies, and cartoons. His paintings are like a trip through a sci-fi/horror funhouse with commercial interruptions. His style is bold, graphic yet playful. Much of his recent works deal with themes of media, technology and control. He likes to work on found materials; such as paper, canvas, and fashion. Currently he is exhibiting in galleries and boutiques in Los Angeles. In the past he has exhibited curated shows in San Francisco, and also owned a gallery in San Francisco called National Product.
