Holiday Fat Loss: Is It Possible?
The holidays are here, and we all know what that means:
And somewhere in all this chaos, there’s a voice in your head saying:
“I’ll deal with my health in January.” 🤦🏻♂️
But let me ask you this:
When has January ever been easier than December?
If you’re a busy leader like me, January means catching up on everything you avoided in December.
That’s a recipe for staying stuck.
You don’t need to go full “grilled chicken and broccoli” mode at holiday dinners to avoid packing on the pounds.
Let’s keep it realistic, shall we?
👉 Set the Bar Lower (and Thank Yourself Later)
If you’re eyeing the dessert table, ask yourself: “Do I need one cookie or five?” (Hint: You’ll still get the dopamine hit from one.)
And when the host asks if you want a drink, say, “Yes, I’ll have a glass of water first.”
Half the time, they’ll forget to ask again.
👉 Call Out the Real Excuses
I know, I know: “I’m too busy.”
But if you can find time to scroll LinkedIn (hello 👋), you can find time for a 15-minute walk.
Procrastination?

That’s your brain trying to trick you into thinking the future you is some kind of superhero.
Spoiler alert: They’re not.
👉 It’s About More Than Fat Loss
I used to think the holidays were an excuse to let myself off the hook.
“It’s tradition,” I’d tell myself.
Truth is, it’s not about the scale. It’s about showing up for yourself, for your family and business when it matters most.
✅ Imagine starting January with energy to crush your goals.
✅ Imagine walking into the office with confidence because you didn’t let yourself go.
✅ Imagine feeling proud of yourself.
So, is holiday fat loss possible? Yes.
But let’s not overcomplicate it. You don’t have to be perfect, you just have to be better than last year.
Start small.
Laugh off the slip-ups.
And remember: Leadership is about setting the example, even when the eggnog is calling your name.
