In a fast-paced world where we strive to achieve more, be more, and show up in every aspect of our lives, we often find ourselves entangled in the relentless grip of stress, overwhelm, and anxiety.
Stress is a response driven by our subconscious nervous system, that runs on autopilot.
So you may ask… “How can I take control of it if it’s subconscious?”
Just like any autopilot system, there’s an override button.
We just need to learn where it is, how to press it, and go through a full reprogramming of it!
In this blog, I'll take you through the exact 7-step process my clients go through to become the happiest, most fulfilled version of themselves… And build resilience in the process. Let’s dive in!
6 Steps To Overcome Stress
Changing the way we think, feel, and behave happens in 3 stages: Awareness, Control, and Reprogramming.
Because we cannot change what we’re not aware of and don’t understand.
Once we do, we need to take control to change the course of action.
Then with steady repetition and consistency, based on the principle of neuroplasticity we can effectively rewire our brain and nervous system to create new patterns: neuro-reprogramming.
My 7-step process is designed for you to work with your body, nervous system, and mind, and not against them to overcome stress and anxiety, and be empowered to get back to showing up as the best version of yourself in all areas of your life.
Step 1 - Stress Busting
It's time to understand your stress and anxiety on a deeper level and learn how to "hack" your own nervous system to regain control. Stress and anxiety is a nervous system response that was originally designed to keep you safe.
By understanding the intricate workings of your body, you can effectively stop the stress response in its tracks. You’ll learn how to “hack” the nervous system to take control of your stress in the very moment it arises!
With this newfound knowledge, you'll be equipped with the tools to harness the power of your own body to overcome stress and anxiety.
Step 2 - State shifting
Our nervous system is constantly on high alert, ready to respond to any perceived threat. The stress response, often referred to as the "fight/flight" response, kicks in, causing us to either take action or run away from the situation.
But what happens when we can't fight or run? That's when the "freeze" response comes into play, leaving us feeling stuck and unable to move forward. To break free from this cycle, it's important to build personal strategies that allow us to navigate between the different states of stress and find our way back to a state of balance. Creating flexibility in our stress response is key.
So, how can we integrate these techniques seamlessly into our lives? One way to achieve this is by understanding the neurobiology of habits. By knowing how our brain forms routines, we can actively foster the formation of new, healthier habits.
By implementing these strategies little by little, we can gradually rewire our brain and make lasting changes.
Step 3 - Holistic Resilience
Resilience is a crucial quality that enables us to bounce back from challenges and setbacks. To truly cultivate resilience, it is important to adopt a holistic approach that encompasses various aspects of our well-being. That's where the 4 pillars of resilience come into play: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.
To begin this journey, we start by understanding the significance of each pillar. Physical resilience encompasses taking care of your body through exercise, healthy eating, and adequate rest. By nourishing your body, you can lay a strong foundation for overall well-being and resilience.
Mental resilience is about our ability to stay focused and positive, even during difficult times. Developing mental flexibility can help you cope with stress and enhance your ability to bounce back from setbacks.
Emotional resilience is all about understanding and managing your emotions effectively. By building emotional intelligence, you can navigate challenging situations with grace, maintain healthy relationships, and recover from emotional distress more easily.
Lastly, spiritual resilience involves connecting with yourself on a deeper level, diving deep into your core values and beliefs. Nurturing your spiritual well-being can provide a sense of purpose and meaning, which can greatly contribute to your overall resilience.

Step 4 - Mind Energiser
Understanding how the heart can lead the body and mind into an optimum state of being is essential for achieving overall well-being. By learning to practice heart coherence, you can tap into the power of your heart to create a healthy body and state of mind.
To start, it's important to build awareness of what depletes and energises you. Paying attention to the activities, people, and situations that drain your energy can help you identify energy leaks in your life. Once you pinpoint these areas, you can take steps to plug the leaks and conserve your precious energy.
On the flip side, it's equally important to recognise what replenishes you. What activities or experiences bring you joy, contentment, and a sense of fulfillment? By actively seeking out and incorporating more of these energising elements into your life, you can increase your overall vitality and well-being.
By understanding the connection between the heart, energy, and overall well-being, you can make conscious choices that support your health and happiness.
Step 5 - Emotion Shifter
Understanding the impact of emotions and making conscious emotional choices is crucial to maintaining our emotional health. By developing this awareness, we can use our Emotional Compass as a guiding tool to navigate through the ups and downs of our day-to-day life with more positivity, calmness, joy, and ease.
Emotions play a vital role in shaping our experiences, relationships, and overall well-being. They can influence our decisions, interactions, and even our physical health. When we recognise and acknowledge our emotions, we gain the power to respond to them in a healthy and constructive way.
This empowers us to regulate our emotions effectively, rather than allowing them to control us, and navigate through various situations with self-awareness and empathy.

In the realm of relationships, the heart plays a crucial role. It guides us in forming deep, meaningful connections with loved ones, friends, and even colleagues.
