How to raise your kids in the digital world!!!
In today’s time, every person has great concern about how to give their kids the best nourishment, and education. Parents are struggling every day with different challenges.
In earlier times kids were taken care of in big families and they are given value by their grandparents. There were no gadgets. Kids are raised in communities by playing with other kids. Kids used to listen to the stories every day by elders in the family.
Nowadays things have changed, people are shifting and living in separate families. Kids are surrounded by gadgets always. It is the time we have more pressure on how to raise our kids in a digital environment.
As working parents, if we are sending them to daycare. Make sure they are well-taken care of by them and get valuable information not misled by anyone.
Esther Wojcicki is an author, journalist, and founder of the Palo Alto High School Media Program in Palo Alto, California. She is the mother of three daughters. Her two daughters are CEOs and one is a doctor. She and her husband raised their kids in such a way that is commendable.
Though, as a parent, we all want our kids healthy, happy, and successful in their fields. we should teach those habits that is building block for their life from the beginning. 90% of a child’s brain is developed by the age of 5 and most of the things like language, and basic habits, they learn by this age.
Some kids learn quickly, and some kids take time, so you have to deal with them accordingly. We should not compare our kids with other kids, every kid is different and has a different individuality. Every kid comes into this world with their own interests and passions, As a parent, it’s our duty to flourish them and bring out their best at their capacity. Here are the following things we should focus on -
1.Give Quality time to your Kids
Your Quality time is very important, for kids. It is not important how much time you are giving your kids but it’s important how valuable time, you are spending with them. If you are spending less time. How much focus you are giving with that period? Kids are smart, whatever they see, they reflect the same. You can talk to them when you are having lunch or dinner and can go for walk. Find a time to give 100% focus to them.
2. Start the day with gratitude and Prayers
Teach your kids the power of gratitude and prayers. These are the things we have learned from our parents and grandparents. They will know the value of the things that they have and will not take them for granted. Prayers with family teach kids a great habit that they carry with them their whole life. They know where to go when they have their dark times. Faith, hope, and love are the things that they learn during prayers.
3. Your actions shout loud
Kids learn from your actions. Our words and actions, both should be the same, If we are saying something else and doing something different, it will confuse our kids. They will not listen as they are looking at your actions. If we want to teach them healthy habits we should implement them in our own life, we don’t need to say them multiple times they will learn by seeing you.
4. Be Compassionate
Kids are very delicate and soft-hearted. They don’t learn by anger or fear. If you are frequently angry and shout at your family members. It will be impacted your little ones. You are the role model for your kids, always remember you are building the block of their character by your behavior. Compassion helps kids to connect and understand them. They will also treat others the same way.

5. Be accountable
This is our duty to be accountable for what we said. If we make any promise to them be accountable. If we are breaking our promises and not keeping our word. We are not setting the right example in front of them. Life happens, and the situation doesn’t go always as we plan. If you have always been accountable your child will understand your situation. Your accountability helps your child to prepare a solid foundation for their life.
6. Love with Discipline
We all love our kids, but loving doesn’t mean giving everything to them. As a parent, it is our duty to fulfill their need, but giving them multiple choices and things that they have more than they required, is not loving your child but spoiling them. We should set some discipline on providing things. They should know the value of things. In life, they have to earn hard to get things, nothing comes for free. This habit, we should teach them since childhood for their better future.
7. Reading books
Reading books will help your child to create a habit of learning. It will give a great contribution to kids' growth, focus, discipline, and personal development. Nowadays kids are busy playing games on gadgets, which impacts kids’ minds. There are many distractions on the gadgets, that make them irritable, frustrated, impassioned, and addicted to games. I understand we can not deprive them fully but we create some habits, (like book reading) that are going to help them in present and in the future.
8. Healthy food
Kids learn healthy habits at their home. As a parent, we can control our child’s healthy diet. Kids need more nutrients at this growing age. If we will not give focus on healthy meals, they can deprive of essential nutrients and that will impact their mental and physical growth. As I earlier mentioned, kids learn many habits since childhood. If they will see healthy food habits at home, they will carry these habits their whole life. Do not give them what they ask every time. Be mindful, and give them what is good for their health. You can prepare healthy snacks and yummy food in creative ways.
9. Connect them with Nature
We all are part of Nature as other species. We feel good when we come closer to Nature. In today's time, kids are staying at home and not playing as we are raised in our childhood. You can connect kids with Nature by going for a walk, or on vacation and telling them about it. So it will create a sense of environmental responsibility. Loving nature will help them to use the things that are given by our nature. They will not waste the things that will impact Natural resources. Teaching them how to give a contribution to a sustainable environment is our responsibility.
10. Focus on the Character rather than materialism-
Character is very important that we should focus on while raising our kids. When you join any Job they see you your grades and education but how you grow in your career is always your character. “People are hired for what they know and fired for who they are” We have to prepare the building blocks of their character since childhood. In rat race competitions, we all focus on top grades and higher ranks. But our most priority should be the character that will make them better people, husbands and wives, and responsible citizens.
As parents, we have to struggle with new challenges every day. We have to overcome and learn the things that help us to give the best life to our kids. And they can also learn how to give contribution per their skills and capacity to make this world a better place
