Excessive use of antibiotics in animal husbandry, subsequent environmental pollution and as a result: MDR.

This article was written last year, but today its relevance has only increased.

Antibiotic residues can be found in all foods that humans consume. This is regardless of whether they are of animal or non-animal origin, including plant products, which can be contaminated with soil and water with traces of antibiotics due to improper handling processes or the use of manure as soil amendments. Plants take up antibiotics from the soil and enter the food chain.

Antibiotic residues in feed are now a big problem and can lead to serious health problems, including antibiotic resistance in the first place.
