The Humble Business Card. Twentieth Century Style.
My Digital Business Card

The Humble Business Card. Twentieth Century Style.

Being a voracious networker, I have attended many conferences and networking events over the years. But I am not alone. Most of us have.

A prerequisite for so doing was to take a stack of business cards so that contacts we have made can get in touch. Inevitably, we would return home with about the same number of cards that we gave to others.

In my case, this was a lot. I normally followed up immediately and then I added the cards to my enormous collection that I have accumulated over the years. Whilst I am not sure what the hard number is, my guess is that it’s several thousands.

One day earlier this year, I attempted to file them by category and was beaten by the herculean nature of the task at hand.

I then discovered some sexy software which turned my phone into a scanner allowing me to capture the necessary information. But oftentimes, some information was missed and I lost interest after about the fiftieth card.

Fast forward to now and I am now the proud owner of a Digital Business Card, the twentieth century variant of its paper-based predecessor.

My brand new shiny Digital Business Card can centralize all my social media links from WhatsApp to LinkedIn as well as my Websites and Landing Pages. It is the safest, easier, and fastest way to connect and engage both existing and potential clients during this pandemic. By just sharing my QR code or sending them my link, they can easily get the necessary information about your business. Point your camera and scan the code, and all the necessary information about me and my business.

Anyone can now easily schedule a meeting with me at their convenience using Zoom or Remo, check out my websites, view the 'menu' of my 200 WhatsApp groups, see all my Social Media posts, and by using this card pay for access to my enourmous network.

I also posted this poll asking who has such a card. Needless to say, those that responded with 'No, but I want one' will be hearing from me soon!

In some ways, the idea of aggregating all touch points into one space which we all still need is brilliant in its simplicity. Which is why I am looking forward to working with the brains behind it by helping others create their own bespoke Digital Business Cards.

For in the hyper connected always on 24/7 global village we all now inhabit, getting people’s attention and scheduling a meeting with them is in some ways now more challenging than it’s ever been – which is why a ‘back to basics’ approach by reinventing a ‘must have’ business tool can only be a good thing.

Furthermore, my new card will enable me to do what I do best – connect people. Since we are all inherently social animals, my so doing carries with it an added sense of urgency about it. Remaining at home isolated at cooped up is just not normal. Or healthy.

LinkTree are leading the way in this already crowded space. Their premium product is priced at $6/month, but as founding ambassador of vide.bio, I am in a position to give away 100 cards with the same funtionality for just $49 for life!

To take advantage of this 'when they're gone they're gone' exlusive offer, please sign up here and then go to this page to make your one-off payment.

Moving forward, simply share your new card with all those people you encounter as you would have done with the traditional card. Your new digital card will afford you the opportunity to catch-up will all your existing contacts so you can share it with them.

I think it is a great idea - but must admit that I have a soft spot for my collection of dog-eared business cards amassed over the years!

Nice!! #needs

This is such a brilliant idea. I have that same challenge with my card collection and I'm excited to learn more about the Digital Business Card.
