I Hope Yule Love These Holiday Fun Pics!
The problem -- such a problem, right? -- is the number of holidays we celebrate at this time of the year! Growing up as I did, the two I was most familiar with were Chanukah (Hanukkah) and Christmas. Our world felt smaller in the 1950s/'60s, and many of us hadn't even met someone of a different faith who celebrated a different holiday.
Now? We've seen men ON the moon, taking pictures and showing us how small our blue planet really is. We've had the Internet / World Wide Web around for public use for nearly 30 years, long enough for many to have born AFTER its inception and barely aware of a time before it existed (BC = Before Computers, as Zubair Edhy just reminded me in a comment).
And we've had a chance to not only be aware of, but also be in touch with those whose lives are 100% different from ours! We see different kinds of names, we learn of different religious beliefs, and we learn -- most of us, anyway -- that despite all that, we're still ONE family of beings called humans.
And we take the love, understanding, acceptance, joy, and fun where we find it. We rejoice in our common needs for those things. That's one reason I've held fast to my Friday Funday pages, knowing that while specific humor isn't universal, we all enjoy a good laugh.
So, on with the second-to-last Friday Funday post of this year 2019!
Take happiness where you find it?
A Chanukah (12/22-12/30/19) ham? Hmmmm. Don't quite think so! Thanks so much, John Marrett, of thinking of me!
A Friday the 13th? Oh. Wait. That's TODAY!
So to speak, anyway ...
Thanks to Mary Tilkey for this gem below!
Dogs and holidays ... cats and holidays ... oops!
Now for those with OCD, this idea probably HURTS big-time!
Not everything is good for everyone ...

And my favorite for the year -- another from Mary Tilkey. No matter which holiday we celebrate -- the thought could easily applied elsewhere...
Which one is YOUR favorite today?

5yI liked the tangled lights that were wadded up in a ball and hung from the gutter as is, Susan Rooks. Very tempting, but it would only stay that way for a few minutes before I would be back up the ladder to fix it.

5yThis week Susan Rooks, I vote for my Chanukah Ham (up here in Canada, we call it Hanukkah!), stolen antidepressants, and the "fainting" Christmas Tree!

5yThe kitty in the tree with the (or rather, without) the ornaments. Reminds me so much of my departed kitty Monkey. She knocked over a tree or two in her 19 years of purrfection.
