Igniting the spark for a stronger and sustainable library field: A promising start in Nairobi
The #IFLA Regional Workshop in #Nairobi kicked off today, setting the stage for a vibrant exchange of ideas and knowledge. The atmosphere is abuzz with excitement as old colleagues reunite and new connections flourish in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
At IFLA, we firmly believe in the vital connection between the #SustainableDevelopment of the library field and the broader world. Just as the United Nations #2030Agenda emphasises collective action at all levels, we, as agents of change in the library profession, are mobilising according to our unique strengths and contexts. Our aim is to leave a lasting impact now and in the future.
Acknowledging the remarkable work of Kenya National Library Service (KNLS) in leading libraries in Kenya and hosting this workshop, IFLA President, Vicki McDonald , urged participants to explore collaborative opportunities with partners and government agencies. The message echoed loud and clear: #StrongerTogether.
Collaboration holds the key to achieving sustainability, and when the library community unites, a transformative impact can be made.
As the inaugural day unfolded, it became apparent that this workshop is not just an event but a platform for profound discussions. Brought together, leaders and passionate library professionals alike are fueled with a sense of purpose and determination to not only make the library field sustainable but also stronger and more influential.
Stay tuned for more!
