Inside Award-Winning Project: Journey to Excellence in Australia FSI

Accompanying with the client since 2022, achieving a record ramp-up over 150 members in just six months, a CSS score of 90-100% across evaluation periods are the concrete proofof the trust the client place in DE3. So what is the key to DE3’s success in gaining the client’s trust and confidence? Let’s hear from Mr. Le Xuan Ngoc, DE3 team representative, in the article below. 

Can you introduce the project and provide some basic information about the client? 

The client is a renowned fintech company in Australia with over 30 years of development, specializing in delivering technology and digital solutions to enable, support, and scale wealth management and advisory organizations globally. The client needed a reliable technology partner to revamp their underlying technology stack and modernize user experience to transform a window application into a web-based one with novel features adapted to Australian BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) demands. 


What challenges did the team face while working with the client?  

The client’s working process is very methodical and professional; every product delivered requires a strict and clear completion roadmap. The client also has very high demands for candidates, requiring personnel with in-demand skills such as Microservices, Java, and ReactJS at level 4. 

Project managers, scrum masters, solution architects, and business analysts working on the project needed to have knowledge of finance and wealth products to develop products that align with the BFSI (banking and financial services industry) market needs. 

To understand the product and propose the best enhancement solutions, we had to employ various approaches to build business relations and improve the necessary skill sets for the job. 

How did the team tackle and resolve the challenges presented by the client? 

First, to meet the high personnel demands, the team proactively proposed an optimized staffing solution to ensure that the development, delivery, and transfer of the product proceeded according to schedule. 

“If the client needs a person at level 4, but we have someone at a different level who we are confident can meet their requirements, we need to be upfront with the client.”  

To avoid bait-and-switch situations, DE3’s working principle is to be honest about the skill level and quality of our resources from the outset, avoiding overpromising to build absolute trust with the client. 

Regarding technical expertise, the team organized retrospective meetings with the client to gain a deeper understanding of the banking domain. Additionally, DE3 conducted rapid internal training sessions, participated in advanced skill courses, and obtained relevant certifications to demonstrate the team's commitment to self-improvement. 


In your opinion, what was the key factor that helped you achieve nearly perfect CSS scores from the client? 

The key factor that enabled DE3 to achieve near-perfect satisfaction scores from the client was “internal commitment.” It’s not just the commitment between the project team and the client, but also the commitment among team members to complete their work on time and to the company’s standards. 

To achieve this, the team needed meticulous planning, and managers had to closely monitor the work progress to ensure that no member fell behind. If anyone faced difficulties, there was always someone ready to support or replace them to ensure the project stayed on track. 

To gain the client’s trust, collaboration, and high evaluation throughout the project, our team established clear development plans and strategies, creating “ace cards” ready to tackle challenges at any time.
