Inside the Deal: The Oscar-Nominated Shorts and the Cybersecurity Scholarship That Could Ignite Economic Stability

In the still, quiet moments of reflection, we often dare to dream big, to sketch the outlines of a future we yearn to step into. Every year, I find myself doing just that, drawing ambitious, almost audacious goals onto my vision board as a standard discipline to keep my life sane and productive. My last year aspirations were diverse and grand because i was hitting my milestone birthday:

• To set a Guinness World Record
• To make a mark in the world of Oscars
• To establish a transformative Fund
• To conquer by challenges around Health and Wellness
• To impact 1M women globally, ensuring they are touched, seen, heard, and served
• To be present and engaged for my kids, family and friends unconditionally.

These were ambitions, not defined by clear paths or detailed plans but driven by a deep, unwavering passion for what i love and care.

Fast forward to today, and the journey has been nothing short of miraculous, filled with challenges, learnings, and unexpected victories.

THE FUND: The inception of the MXW Ventures - Hollywood Film Fund marked the beginning of an extraordinary adventure. Together with a group of friends who believed in the vision, we ventured into the unknown, investing in and creating three significant movies: American Underdog, The Collaborator, and the ICONS documentary. These projects are not just films; they are testaments to the power of belief, creativity, and collaboration, set to debut in 2024. The process was arduous, yet exhilarating, and I am immensely grateful to Rashaana Shah for her trust and partnership on this bold journey. The Oscars: The goal was clear - to clinch an Oscar. Why? It is impossible for some like to achieve it. Yet, the universe had grander plans. On the set of American Underdog, I encountered curious minds eager to explore the tech world, seeking economic stability for their families and protecting their IP. This led to the creation of AI and Cybersecurity scholarships strategy, and ultimately, to a groundbreaking two GTM partnership between Women in Cloud and Microsoft Philanthropies to distribute 5000+ cybersecurity certification scholarships and ShortsTV & Women in Cloud, bringing Oscar-nominated shorts to over 800 theaters worldwide. This endeavor transcends cinema and tech; it's a movement towards inclusivity, education, and empowerment for driving economic stability and access for all. And who knows? You might just spot me on the Oscars Red Carpet this year if I get lucky to get an invitation! The universe has to do its magic :)

Guinness World Record: The quest to set a world record was more than a challenge; it was a promise to Patti Dobrowolski , my mentor, friend and more. It took two years of relentless dedication for us to keep believing in each other, fueled by the knowledge that the Women in Cloud community is capable of extraordinary feats.

Together, we achieved our goal, setting a new world record through collective action and determination.

Health and Wellness: Last year tested my resilience, navigating through many surgeries and health crises. Yet, it sparked a quest for breakthrough solutions in health and wellness, with the potential to impact over 1 million women worldwide. While still in the early stages, this initiative holds the promise of transformative change.

As I share these stories, I'm filled with gratitude and excitement for what lies ahead. The partnership between ShortsTV & Women in Cloud, bringing Oscar-nominated shorts to 800+ theaters, is just the beginning. This collaboration is a testament to our shared values and vision, bridging the worlds of entertainment, technology, and social impact.
