As most women in business or leadership roles can tell you, it is a real challenge to maintain balance between your personal and professional lives, especially if you are a mother. It frequently feels like some aspect of your life has to give, and too often professional women will put themselves last on the priority list. But it is possible to find work-life integration and keep all aspects of your life in harmony.

I recently had a great conversation with Allison Kaplan on an episode of the Intentional Greatness Podcast. Ali is a writer, speaker and emcee, content creator, fashion expert, and she also serves as Twin Cities Business Magazine’s first ever female Editor-in-Chief. In addition, Ali is an awesome mom. And if that weren’t enough, she co-hosts a weekly radio show called Shop Girls alongside her own mother, Harmony.

Ali has learned to keep a healthy balance between her professional life and her home life, while still finding precious self-care time. She has worked to modernize her magazine and has made smart changes to expand its digital reach, all while successfully integrating her kids into her work so that they can see what Ali does and why she does it.

Ali Kaplan is an inspiring woman, a powerful leader, and an incredible mom. I hope her story of blazing her own path and defining her own success inspires you to do the same in your life. Listen to my conversation with Ali here.
