International Women’s Day

This International Women’s Day, I want to share something close to my heart: coaching the Buckhurst Hill Leopardesses, my daughter’s football team. Two years ago, they asked me to step into the role of coach, and what a journey it’s been!

Our weekly training sessions and match every Sunday are certainly paying off. I am incredibly proud to report that the Leapardesses are leading the Essex Girls League with a flawless record of 12 wins out of 12 games and have reached the semi-finals of the Essex Cup, making them one of the top grassroots teams.

But for me, coaching is about more than just winning games. It's about instilling confidence, fostering team spirit, and encouraging personal growth. Seeing my daughter and her teammates develop into confident and driven young women is truly rewarding.

On this International Women's Day, I'm grateful for the opportunity to contribute to their journey, celebrating their successes on and off the field.

Here's to empowering the next generation, one goal at a time.
