Interview With A Defence Lawyer - Oladele Bamidele

In this edition, I am showcasing another guest who have graced my platform and shared their experience as a minister in the marketplace.

Mr. Bamidele, is a lawyer with experience in prosecuting, investigating, and defending cases. His interest in law was sparked by his uncle's encouragement and a specific incident while working as an anti-smuggling officer.

Mr. Bamidele discusses common myths about lawyers, such as being seen as arrogant due to their knowledge of the law. He shares the challenges he faces as a defense solicitor, emphasizing the importance of providing a strong defense regardless of the client's background or nature of the case.

My guest shared the importance of keeping an open mind in legal cases, considering the possibility of innocence and various factors that could explain the situation, such as mistaken identity or being set up. He also emphasize honesty and openness between clients and their legal representatives to build a strong case.

Mr Bamidele discussed advocating for justice and representing Christ in the secular job of the justice system by being a light and advocate for justice. He advocates and encourages empathy, support, stressing the importance of admitting wrongdoing, seeking forgiveness, and learning from past mistakes to grow and help others.

Finally, Mr. Bamidele recommended we educate ourselves about the law to avoid being taken advantage of, to ensure we can navigate legal matters effectively. ►
