Introducing Group Therapy
One of my core values as a Psychotherapist is to help people overcome their challenges and thrive.
I'm able to live this core value when I work with my individual, couple, and family clients. However, the cost of living in Australia has been rising steadily, making it increasingly challenging for individuals to afford private therapy sessions. This is something I have never been comfortable with.
As a result, I have decided to launch a new therapy service that is available to everyone: Group Therapy.
What Is Group Therapy?
In Group Therapy, a therapist works with a group of individuals who are united by a common challenge. The primary focus is to achieve each individual's personal goals within the group setting.
One thing many people don't realise about group therapy is the immense benefit of shared experiences. The collective wisdom of the group often leads to new perspectives and solutions that might not emerge in individual therapy.
What are the Advantages of Group Therapy?
Group Therapy offers several benefits:
New Groups on Offer
My psychotherapy practice is now forming therapy groups around two key topics.
Both of these themes have affected me in the past, both personally and vicariously through close friends and clients, and are very meaningful to me.
Group #1: Fathers Dealing With Separation
This group focuses on fathers who are experiencing mental health challenges due to being separated from their partners, and where reconciliation appears unlikely. Our goal is to help fathers cope with separation and uncertainty, find meaning and purpose, rebuild their lives, and thrive in spite of their environment.

Group #2: Professionals Dealing With Workplace Bullying
This group is designed for men and women who are experiencing mental health challenges due to workplace bullying. Our goal is to help these professionals cope with the distress or trauma they are experiencing, overcome their pain, find meaning and purpose, and thrive in spite of their environment.
Expressions of Interest
I am launching two cohorts for both groups: one online and one in-person in Sydney. The launch date will take place between the 22nd - 30th August 2024.
Each group will be set to 8 - 14 individuals, to ensure maximum therapist-member interaction and intergroup learning.
We will meet once a week, with each group session running for 90 minutes (with potential to extend to 105 mins depending on member needs).
Members can choose to purchase 8 or 12 sessions.
If you are interested in discovering more about these therapy groups, please visit the Intermind Groups page. From there, you can send me an email for more information, or book a free 15 minute initial consultation for us.
We can then have a brief conversation to help you make the right decision.
I hope you find this helpful.

5moI have tried to arrange online and in-person group sessions like these but one of the issues I come across is client’s concerns regarding confidentiality. Many people prefer backing out as they don’t want to be visiblly sharing their stuggles. What do you think can be a better approach to this? Is it based on their personality traits that they don’t want to share and benefit from other’s experiences.
