What's New in dcTrack 9.2?

Have you heard the news? dcTrack 9.2 is now generally available!

dcTrack 9.2 was designed with our commitment to customer success in mind. Working closely with hundreds of our customers through requirements reviews, workshops, and global user groups, we learned what challenges they currently face and prioritized the delivery of new capabilities that will simplify and enhance Data Center operations and management of IT assets across all spaces, including those at edge sites and IDF closets.

This release, which focuses on streamlining data center operations so that users can save time and automate complex tasks, includes:

• Enhanced Visualization and Floor Maps. New hierarchical floor maps offer more efficient data center and IDF closet management, allowing users to drill down into rooms and visualize connectivity between rooms. Cabinets can now be added and edited directly in the dcTrack GUI with updates reflected in the AutoCAD® or Visio® drawing files, eliminating multiple GUI's and additional import/export process. Plus, granular permission has been expanded to the Visualization tab where users (e.g., tenants) can now visualize only the assets they have permissions for.
• Connectivity Enhancements for Modern Networks. dcTrack now supports multi-channel connectors like MPO/MTP for efficient high-bandwidth fiber setups, allowing for faster connection setup, more accurate port tracking, and cleaner circuit traces. It also supports port creation on data panels without structured cabling and recommends patch cable lengths in work orders for streamlined operations.
• Improved Ease of Use and Asset Management. dcTrack 9.2 enhances the Intelligent Capacity Search feature to allow bulk provisioning of equipment and automatic distribution of planned items across cabinets, custom tool tips for more insightful information, bulk scanning for faster intake of items on the dock, and an announcement banner for system-wide notifications.
