Laura Behan Of Ballymaloe House

Ballymaloe House in Cork recently celebrated 60 years since it first opened its doors to the public. The family-owned hotel in East Cork has 32 bedrooms, a heated outdoor pool and a renowned restaurant first opened by Myrtle Allen.
The team at Ballymaloe House were early adopters of the farm to fork movement with a menu that changes daily using only local and seasonal produce.

McSorley's Purchased For €5.5m
The team behind Lemon & Duke and The Bridge 1859 has purchased McSorley’s in Ranelagh for a sum of €5.5 million.
The group, which will now be known as Grand Slam Bars, is owned by Noel Anderson, former Chair of the Licensed Vintners Association (LVA), along with former Irish international rugby players Jamie Heaslip, Dave Kearney, Rob Kearney and Sean O’Brien.
“We are deeply honoured to be taking over as custodians of McSorley’s, one of the great suburban pubs of Dublin," said Noel Anderson, group managing director of Grand Slam Bars.
"We understand what McSorley’s means to its customers, and the special place it occupies in Ranelagh and beyond.”

Shared Island Tourism Project
A new funding call from Fáilte Ireland, Tourism Northern Ireland and Tourism Ireland, aims to enhance interpretation at existing operating visitor attractions and experiences along the north of the Wild Atlantic Way and along the Causeway Coastal Route.
The Coast-to-Coast Capital Investment Scheme, part of the Shared Island Tourism Brand Collaboration Project, aims to encourage visitors to explore both tourist routes by improving the storytelling and immersive experience capabilities on offer in existing visitor attractions and experiences.
The Scheme will be open for applications from Donegal, Sligo and parts of Leitrim on the Wild Atlantic Way, and the local authority areas of Derry City and Strabane District Council, Causeway Coast and Glens Borough Council, Mid and East Antrim Borough Council and Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council along the Causeway Coastal Route.

New Cocktail Bar In Meath
The Johnstown Estate in Enfield, Co Meath, has announced the opening of Parterre, a new cocktail bar.
Parterre specialises in botanically-inspired cocktails (from €15), guest favourites include the Parterre Bloody Mary, the Spa Serenity, and the House Martini.
To complement the high-end drinks offering, Parterre offers nibbles (from €4.50) like hickory smoked toasted almonds and marinated oriental mixed olives along with light bites (from €7) like Nori Tempura and a sharing charcuterie board.
"We see it as another jewel in The Johnstown Estate’s crown,” said Ciaran Reidy, general manager, The Johnstown Estate.
