Join the Legal Tech Community!
The legal industry is undergoing a tech-fueled transformation, but I discovered this revolution is being led by a community, not just technology.
When I entered the legal tech world, I expected complex codes and algorithms. What I found instead was a group bound by collaboration and growth.
In law school, relationships were often transactional and competitive. However, legal tech attracts individuals dedicated both to personal goals and lifting up peers. I was pleasantly surprised by tech enthusiasts committed to empowering others, not just themselves.
I’ve built meaningful relationships through chance encounters that evolved into enduring friendships. One podcast appearance aimed at discussing a founder’s startup sparked an over one hour conversation delving into his whole legal journey. We still chat daily, learning from each other’s experiences and offering support.
This sense of community, not just technology itself, propels innovation in legal tech. Sharing ideas and collaborating on solutions drives progress. And there’s room for more doers, thinkers and trailblazers to get involved.
I’ve had the chance to pay it forward by being a part of numerous podcast episodes, contributing numerous articles and blog posts, and moderating countless discussions highlighting inspiring stories of positive change fueled by legal tech. Each action I have taken has revealed over and over again how collaboration and relationships continue advancing the industry.
I’ve also authored a book sharing my journey of discovery in an easy-to-digest way for legal professionals starting their tech enablement adventure. By illuminating key concepts through storytelling, I am doing my best to encourage others to embrace technology with an eye towards progress over perfection and purpose over just checking off the boxes.
The one thing that the legal tech world had shown for me is one simple notion:

Relationships enable human achievement above all else.
Technology depends on people connecting and on building tools advancing how law is practiced and justice is served.
So I encourage all law students and legal professionals to engage with legal tech, not just to advance your career, but to experience the power of community. Come build relationships, exchange ideas, and be part of revolutionizing law through technology focused on progress plus purpose.
To those young lawyers and law students interested in learning more and/or working on projects of your own, I would be delighted to hear from you. I also welcome you to check out my book “The Legal Tech Ecosystem” as a starting point to kickstart your legal tech discovery journey as we work to shape the future of law powered by tech-enabled attorneys willing to embrace innovation.
The legal tech community is waiting for you with open arms.
Let’s connect, collaborate, and work towards positive change together.
