Building a community of professionals to support first-generation college students

Let's be collectively successful!

According to the Notebook, only 10% of high school students in Philadelphia get a college degree, but 24% enroll in college. This means 6 out 10 of these students drop out of college, most likely with student loans but no degree. Many of these students struggle because they don’t have role models and mentors who can support them. While this data is from the Philadelphia School District, these statistics probably hold true for many American cities.

To address this issue, I am co-founding the Collective Success Network in Philadelphia.

The vision is to build a platform for professionals to pay-it-forward by mentoring and supporting disadvantaged students to navigate college and life beyond. This innovative social venture is a collaboration between caring professionals (many of whom were the first in their families to go to college) and daring student leaders (many of whom are Calm Clarity College Scholars courageously stepping up to champion the needs of fellow low-income students).

Please join us.

We especially invite all professionals who have overcome adversity to share the lessons they learned in their own journey with students facing similar challenges today.
