Keep calm, we're here to help
You would need to have just arrived from another planet not to be aware of the chaos that's unfolding around us at the moment. Through this we are still arranging interviews and roles are still being filled so we want both our candidates and clients to be prepared for any situation. Our experienced legal consultants have outlined some tips to deal with the challenges the current situation has thrown up to ensure that the recruitment process is as smooth and safe as possible. Perhaps more importantly ensuring the process follows the guidelines and measures put in place by the Government
Interviewing
Interviews don’t need to be cancelled because you can’t meet with someone face to face, this style of interview isn’t the only option. Interviews can easily be conducted via telephone or video conference. There are multiple apps available now which facilitate interviewing online, these apps include Skye, Zoom and Facetime, and they are very simple to use. Our team would be happy to take you through using any of these apps where needed.
Candidates we’ve created some great resources for you, to help you prepare for an video or telephone interview, check them out before you hit dial.
Handshakes
We all know how important it is to start an interview with a strong handshake, it’s something that has been drummed into us since our very first interview or meeting. BUT, our advice at the moment is, if you are continuing with a face to face interview, avoid physical contact with anyone where possible. Therefore no shaking hands during an interview. Your interviewer will not be expecting a handshake and the lack of this greeting can be an icebreaker anyway. We would also advise to stick to the NHS advice of keeping a 2m distance from each other.
Symptoms of the virus
If you have a scheduled interview and begin to present symptoms of the virus, please let us know. We will then be able to cancel your interview for you and reschedule it at a later date, to ensure that you can fully recover in peace.
We’re in a weird recruitment world at the moment, with many firms shutting up their offices and encouraging their staff to work from home. We understand that this is a very testing time but want to let you all know that we are here to help you adjust. If you need any advice or just want a friendly voice to speak with, please contact us.
