Kubernetes audiobook

Kubernetes audiobook

I'm about to release the audio edition of my brand new KCNA exam study guide... so thought I'd log on to audible and see how the audio edition of The Kubernetes Book is doing. Let's just say I was blown away!

Listeners are loving it

The most important about any content I create is that people love it. So... I was properly chuffed to see it has 22 ratings and is averaging 4.9 out of 5. That's amazing for an audiobook about a boring topic like Kubernetes :-D

It also has 6 written reviews. They're all 5-star review and listeners are loving the narration style. This means a huge amount to me, as it took a lot of effort to make the content engaging in audio format. Here's some quick review snippets.

Title: Easy listen for a technical subject.
Review: I thought the approach to dealing with a very broad and technical subject [was] great... just the right technical detail for an audio book.

Title: A K8s Must Have! Great Content!
Review: I've read Quick Start Kubernetes by Nigel... This audio book builds on the Quick Start and is another enjoyable learning session. I would highly recommend for anyone wanting to learn Kubernetes.

Title: Super Engaging Overview of Kubernetes.
Review: Really enjoyed this overview of Kubernetes. Nigel's narration of the book is really engaging and he has adapted it well for an audiobook. I will be looking out for more of his audiobooks.

Title: Really good overview of Kubernetes
Review: Nigel has put a lot of effort in to make this technical book work as an audio book! It really paid off. Thanks for the effort.

Sales

I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it's sold over 3,000 copies!

When I first recorded the audiobook I hoped it might sell 100 copies. This was a bit of a worry, as it had taken well over a month to record and edit - I was worried I'd wasted my time. Well... I'm very happy with 3K copies.

Obviously, three thousand copies isn't huge in the grand scheme of things, but it's a lot more than I ever dreamt of.

So... on a personal level I'm both humbled and blown away. I'm also excited for the release of audio edition of The KCNA Book (it's all uploaded and in audio quality review, wo could be released this week). Either way, I'm thinking it'll be a great way to study for the KCNA certification while on the road etc.
