As 2024 comes to a close, we are celebrating a year filled with unique milestones and achievements across the globe. This year, we have made significant strides in promoting responsible aquaculture practices, ensuring that seafood is produced in an environmentally and socially responsible way.

"Looking ahead, 2025 is going to be a big year for ASC and we are all excited about the improvements and opportunities that the next 12 months will bring. We remain committed to our mission of transforming aquaculture for the benefit of people and planet and the launch of our new Farm Standard, and the ongoing implementation of the Feed Standard will be pivotal in achieving this" said Chris Ninnes , ASC's CEO.

Wishing you a joyous Holiday season and a happy New Year! As we wrap up another year, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude for your support and collaboration during 2024. We are excited about the new opportunities and continued growth that the year ahead will bring. Here's to a successful and prosperous 2025!

We closed 2024 with a remarkable five-day exploration of Southern Chile’s salmon farming industry during the final leg of our ASC Discovery Tour, December 2-6. This marked the third and final Tour of 2024 and only the second ever to Chile, following earlier tours in Norway and Greece.

Representatives from Sam's Club, Sysco, Holland America Line and High Liner Foods joined us amid a backdrop of snow-capped volcanos for an action-packed agenda covering the full farm to fork journey of ASC labeled Chilean salmon, including visits to Mowi USA and Blumar farms. “At BluGlacier, LLC, we uphold the highest standards in both our farming practices and community efforts, proudly representing Blumar and Ventisqueros in the U.S.” said Sebastian Goycoolea, CEO of BluGlacier. “Our ASC certification reflects our unwavering commitment to sustainability and excellence. Visits like this offer our partners a firsthand look at the care and integrity we bring to every aspect of our work.”

We’re excited to continue supporting the Women in Ocean Food programme, in partnership with Conservation International Ventures LLC and Hatch Blue . Over the next three years, we’ll fund this initiative to help early-stage female entrepreneurs in emerging markets thrive in the blue food sector, empowering women, providing resources, and fostering community support in aquaculture.

We are also looking forward to the upcoming edition in Baja California Sur, Mexico, in January 2025, where participants will pitch their ideas, gain feedback, and connect with industry leaders.

We’re proud to have earned the top rating in the 2024 Aquaculture Certification Schemes Benchmark released by the Aquatic Life Institute , scoring 8 out of 10 for our commitment to aquatic animal welfare. We received full marks in key areas like water quality, stocking density, and humane slaughter practices.

Have you ever thought about the people behind the seafood you enjoy? We do!

Earlier this month, as we celebrated Human Rights Day, we took a moment to reflect on our mission and the important role our new Farm Standard plays in promoting human rights in seafood farming worldwide.
