In the fast paced world of executive leadership it may feel like finding time for exercise is a luxury.

However having a healthy lifestyle doesn't have to time-consuming feat.

As a matter of fact you can increase your longevity and boost your well-being in just 20 minutes a day with some of these fitness hacks.


1 - HIIT

HIIT or high intensity interval training is something of a game-changer for busy business leaders.

It's highly time efficient and the return you get from the time you put in is excellent.

A study by Smith-Ryan et al 2015 showed short bursts of intense exercise were not only effective for improving your cardiovascular health and fitness but also promotes longevity through stimulating the production of anti-ageing hormones.


2 - Mindful Workouts

When we incorporate mindful exercise such as yoga or tai chi the benefits don't stop at flexibility and balance.

They also extend to reduction in stress.

In fact a study in the Journal of Health Psychology (Bauer-Wu 2010) tells us that practising mindful exercise can have a positive impact on overall health and longevity


3 - Fast Nutrition Wins

When your schedule doesn't allow time to prepare elaborate meals quick and nutrient dense options are available.

Nuts and seeds are a great snack and a study has shown intermittent fasting to have positive impacts on ageing and longevity too (Mattson et al 2014).


4 - Sleep Hygeine

This ones a big deal as sleep is where our bodies regenerate and repair.

Sleep should be a priority as research shows that adequate sleep is also linked to increased longevity and wellbeing (Capuccio et al 2010).


By investing as little as 20 minutes each day using strategies like these you can improve your fitness and laugh your way to a longer and healthier life.
