Let's Create Blog #2 ‘7 tips to find that Original and Unique piece of wall art for your home’

'Does your space lack something?' 

Do you recognize this? You have the most beautiful furniture and decorations in your home and still, it is not complete. Does your space lack something? When a wall is not filled with some personal pieces of art, it can make such a huge difference in how people live their lives in these rooms. The right art sets the tone in your space. A well-chosen piece of art will set this tone in your living space.

1.     Learn more about the artist

2.     Mix styles: Art does not need to match the room 

More difficult is it when you have empty walls and want to brighten them up with art but you do not know what kind of art you like or should buy to establish this. Often people think art has to match your room. It is often the opposite. You can mix styles and hang for example modern art in a quite traditional room. Often this can be exactly what this room needs. Of course, this can also be the other way around.=ginal

3.     Trust your inner feeling

Never forget that when you choose art, the first thing you felt when you did some effort to really look at it, is the most important thing in the consideration to buy or not. Trust this inner feeling, always choose art by the heart, because when you are really attracted to it, it will stay most of the time an artwork for life. It will be something that really makes a difference for the long way.

 So first, choose by the heart, art is a feeling. Find out more about the artist and his or her art, in this way you might discover more artworks or art you like.  Only after that, size, style, colour, theme, inspiration, or floor plan becomes important.

4. Go to galleries or exhibitions and see what you like

You can search on the Internet or go to some galleries or exhibitions to view some art. If there is a piece of art that interests you try to find out more about the artist, his or her life and his or her artworks. Of course, there are many ways to choose art to decorate your home. Art based on style is most natural although based on colour and theme are also often a way to make the best choice.

5.     Choose by theme of your home

Do your home and decoration have a theme then often it is less difficult to find the right matching pieces of art. You can also let the choice be inspirational. Often when you choose a piece of art you have fallen in love with it will stay that way for a lifetime. Of course, often you need to make some compromises choosing art for your home due to the other family members. Though never forget that it is important to keep up with your own style too because it finally your home in which you too have to live and where you should enjoy the pieces on your wall.

6. Commission art – original art

When you consider choosing art by colour, a great tip is to do this is by matching your most significant piece of artwork by a background colour that matches your wall colour. Another way is getting a commissioned piece of art. In this way, you can choose the right size and sometimes colours too for your space and home. When choosing an artist, make sure he or she has experience in making art in commission, or ask a client who’s worked with the artist in the past to share their experience. For instance, watch their recommendations on their LinkedIn profile or website.

Original art is not only great to add because they bring something unique to your home. They certainly give room for a certain amount of character. Original art is really unique and one of a kind and in that art can also be an investment. Often Original artworks appear to be in future a great investment. Original artworks of well famous artists are also very expensive, but it is always something to consider that there are young and upcoming artists, which artworks are amazingly beautiful and will certainly appear to be a great investment for the future.

Not to forget that many artists and galleries nowadays have payment plans. In this way art is often no more out of reach for those who do not want to spend great amounts at once for that beautiful piece of art they have fallen in love with and they would love to see on their wall
