Inventium
CEO
My name is Amantha (I’m the founder and current CEO) and I am looking to demote myself. I am on the hunt to find someone who can do the job better.
Finding someone to lead the amazing team at Inventium is a project I am taking oh-so-seriously (which is why I am doing it myself and not outsourcing or delegating it to someone else). I love my team and am looking for someone who will grow and develop them, and at the same time, take Inventium into its next stage of growth and development.
This is how I will know I’ve found the right person:
- If we were to speak to anyone from the last team you lead, they would describe you as the best boss they ever had. You are energised by seeing those around you kick career goals and creating a culture where people can do their best work.
- You (genuinely) put purpose and people over profit. Inventium is a B-Corp (Google this if you don’t know what I’m talking about), we were the first company in Australia to adopt the Four Day Week (we call if Gift of the Fifth), and we are remote-first (no back-to-office mandates for us - we prefer flexibility and autonomy). If these things excite you, that’s a great sign.
- You could regale me with stories of teams or businesses you have lead and grown (most likely within professional services or an HR-related business). These stories would involve you leading and setting the strategic direction, finding new revenue streams or leveraging your many relationships and networks to unlock value. You don’t tell me these stories to boast, but rather because of the excitement you feel in taking something and making it even better.
- People describe you as one of the best networked people they know. You’re always looking to add value to the folk you have collected over the years, and you’d be excited to introduce them to Inventium (at least for those who are keen to make their workplaces better).
- You see opportunities where others don’t - and not only that, you have countless examples of where you have gone out and grabbed those opportunities and turned them into a reality.
- You walk the talk when it comes to putting the customer first. In past roles, not a week would have gone by where you didn’t speak to a customer.
- Thinking about the financial health of a business is second nature. You know your EBITDA from your CAGR, and are well versed in all the other acronyms that you need to know as the leader of a business.
If you’ve been reading this letter, nodding your head, thinking to yourself, “Yes, this sounds like me!”, this is what we can offer you:
- A tonne of autonomy and the chance to set us on the course for the next stage in our journey.
- A team of legitimately high performers (I know everyone says that, but seriously, the team is full of A-players)
- A small business whose brand and reputation bats well above its weight.
- A suite of products that are highly impactful, but so much opportunity to do and create more, as well as scale our impact.
- An amazing place to work (our engagement scores are in the top 5% of our industry), but with the opportunity to make it even better. Anything and everything can be improved.
- I could go on, but by all means, Google us and hopefully our work and reputation speaks for itself.
