LinkedIn™ Update: Top Voice Badges Are Being Discontinued
LinkedIn™ is taking away Top Voice badges - here’s how to pivot.
Yes, you read that right.
On October 8th, 2024, LinkedIn will no longer issue Gold Top Voice badges.
If you have a Top Voice badge currently, it will remain for 60 days from the time it was issued.
Here is the reasoning from LinkedIn™:
LinkedIn™ will still be awarding its 300 Blue Top Voice Badges.
This news has disappointed many in our community and may disappoint you, too. The thing we have to remember is that platforms change all the time - and we have no control over that.

Stop Running Your Business Like a Man
3moThe questions asked in these articles (at least those I have seen) are naive (I'm trying to stay polite here). They are AI generated are really are just a regurgitation of mainstream stereotypes. And many of the answers are also AI generated and copy-pasted by contributors. Some of the articles are an insult to ethics and to humanity in the coaching industry, to be frank. It's like The Desert of Human Intelligence kind of place. But we don't have to play that game. I went on this articles and gave very disruptive answers and even challenged the articles. Very surprisingly to me I was granted a badge very fast and I think it's because many people on these articles supported my point of view. That gave me hope that we can still discern between authenticity and regurgitation. I agree with Jo Ann Miabella Galvan that these collaborations on articles are a true waste of time, but I'm glad that when we stay true to ourselves and refuse to play a game by the wrong rules, we can make a difference in our communities. I think it's a good thing that these badges are taken off. I will lose mine but I will always keep the learnings from this experience.

3moThe collaborative articles are a waste of time. The start with best-in-class answers, then ask contributors to add to it. All I see is a bunch of people regurgitating the same information in a slightly different way. Yes, it's the game a lot of people are playing but there is NO real collaboration behind it. Really, it's silly.
