Living courageously despite the awareness of our imperfections.
Does anyone else find it difficult to listen to a recording of their own voice played back to them? On top of that with mistakes and muddled words and mistakes in introducing people ... I have made all of those bloopers in the recordings of my podcasts and continue to do so.
In the first 20 seconds of listening to the podcast I just posted, I picked up on about 20 things I needed to be changed. That is one a second lol.
Then I thought of how much time it would take to listen through it, find the time codes to send to the editor etc. Time and patience that I don't have.
Then I reflected on the purpose of the podcast, to share inspiring stories that impact and inspire people to take bold steps towards achieving their dreams.
Then I asked myself how much I care - how much it mattered to me and how much it would matter to others.
I came to the conclusion- that If I cared about all the above- making it perfect and caring what others thought of my voice or my bloopers, the podcast would probably never exist.
The guests are brilliant, and the podcasts are inspiring and I am proud of being able to share incredible people's stories with others.
That matters to me more than being perfect and how I might look or sound.
So I decided to get out of my own way and accept they may not be perfect and there are areas which I can improve and to give myself a break and hope others can too and instead of judging the things that could be better and improved, would be inspired and take action to step out and put into action ideas they have had that inspire them and impact others.

It is a good reminder that none of us are perfect and many of us are aware of our shortcomings and that we fall short in so many areas... but we don't stop improving, learning how to do it better, growing and creating things that hopefully benefit others in some way.
I hope my podcast blesses many and sparks the passion in people that drive them to achieve their wildest dreams despite all the critical thoughts of themselves that can cripple us if we let them and stop us from taking action.
Your ability to overcome the need to be perfect, accept your shortcomings and letting go of what others think is where your ability to make an impact begins.
Lot's of love,

1moGosh I was plagued with them for many years and funnily enough when I had a podcast, I never felt the call to listen back..It's so true that when we make it about what we have created being a gift for others, it becomes less about us.
