The LO Down - August 9th - #HighFiveFriday, Podcast of the Week, and Guest Contributor Mike Faraci brings the heat with a SOLO Tip AND a Dad Joke

Well here we are again, the end of another week and what a week it was. At the beginning of the week it felt like the whole financial system was on the verge of collapse, and then, not so much. Now that rates seem on their way down, the debate is now, "How soon is too soon to ask someone to refi?" I'll leave that to the pros to answer. Until then, I hope you enjoy this week's edition of The LO Down!

#HighFiveFriday #BAM

These are my 5 favorite posts from mortgage folks this week.

Up first, a High Five regular Amy Oehler shares a short video full of value. If you are struggling as a LO on what to say when you reach out to a client, Amy shares some great questions that you can ask that will get the conversation started.

Second, Rick Roque shares some insightful commentary on the reasons for LO's making moves in the market and the dangers of taking pride in making money in a market that is "gifting" production. The road to success is a rocky one, and experience is the best teacher.

Third, Khash Saghafi posts about the importance of reading as a part of the growth journey, and even shares a picture of his "Hall of Fame" book stack. I'll have to give some of these a read. Thank you for sharing.

Fourth, Adrian Hall shares a very relatable post about how activity always seems to skyrocket whenever someone takes a vacation. Always important to know that you have someone that will cover you when you're gone and the inevitable vacation spike occurs.

And finally, Eric Levin shares a quick and simple tip that we can all use in sales. It may seem easy and obvious, but it is a step that is often overlooked and is a killer to almost every process. Thank you for the reminder.

2. Strategies on how to meet new Real Estate Agents

3. The importance of accountability and specific strategies on how to create it.

4. Why most marketing strategies don't work

SOLO Tip and Dad Joke of the Week brought to you by Mike Faraci :

If you’re publishing content, and it’s not generating conversations, there’s a reason.

It's probably because you’re making the content for you.

You'd be amazed how a simple perspective shift can turbo-charge your results.

When thinking about content topics…

Stop thinking:

What info should I present?

What products do I offer?

What will help me win?

And start thinking:

What problems do they have?

How can I help solve them?

What will help them win?

Your content needs to be seen by more viewers, and that won’t happen unless you’re making the content for the actual viewers.

Stay focused on them… the exposure, trust, and conversations will follow.

And because you’ve read this far, you’ve earned a Dad Joke!

A past client reached out to me for help.

His wife left him and he stopped making his mortgage payment.

Naturally, I asked him why.

He was just looking foreclosure.

Thank you for the contribution Mike! I truly appreciate it. And if you're looking for some help on how to make solid video content for social, Mike Faraci is a great person to connect with a talk to.
